Dr. Necoechea & the Astronomy Club have their 1st "Virtual Viewing Night"

Astrophotographs!

This is a picture of Saturn that was captured picture with a Canon EOS Rebel T6 digital camera attached to a laptop. The color is due to hydrogen and helium in the atmosphere. 

The picture below with the cloud bands is Jupiter. The atmosphere shows the "banding" because the planet is very windy due to rapid rotation, and the alternating dark and light colors are produced by ascending and descending atmospheric currents.
